Engineering leadership,
from architecture
to delivery.
I build teams that can own the work—and systems they can trust.
A hands-on technical lead with 10+ years across GEICO, Walmart, and Twilio. My work connects team development, architectural decisions, and delivery at scale.

Leadership in practice
How I’ve brought people, technical decisions, and delivery together.
Building a team
that can own a platform
GEICO · Staff Software Engineer / Tech Lead
Built and technically led a 12-person engineering team developing a live, multi-tenant insurance platform.
- My contribution
- Hands-on architecture guidance, mentoring, and shared integration patterns that help downstream teams adopt tenant-aware services.
- What the team delivered
- A client portal, reusable claims APIs, white-label capabilities, an MCP server, and a conversational claims interface.
- Leadership focus
- Connecting team development with clear platform boundaries, capacity planning, and operational visibility.
Turning complex integrations
into a shared delivery plan
Walmart Global Tech · Technical Lead
Led a 10-person team delivering autonomous robotics for Walmart’s first hybrid fulfillment center.
- My contribution
- Partnered with GreyOrange, CVP, and Dematic on a Kafka-based architecture, with Spring Boot services and a React frontend.
- Program outcome
- The program supported 130K units shipped daily and 1.3-day delivery, with $150M+ in projected savings.
- Beyond the launch
- Established department-wide code-review guidelines, streamlined CI/CD, and improved on-call monitoring for service latency and Kafka lag.
Leading modernization
with a measurable outcome
Twilio · Senior Software Engineer
Led the migration of the Phone Numbers Inventory API from PHP to Java and Spring Boot, reducing latency to 12ms.
- My contribution
- API modernization, containerization, and a move toward managed AWS services.
- What changed
- Docker and AWS ECS for deployment, DynamoDB for data, and AWS ElastiCache for the caching service.
- Leadership focus
- Carrying a modernization effort across application code, storage, infrastructure, and deployment.
What I bring
to a leadership role
I stay close enough to the engineering to understand the trade-offs, and help the team build the context to make good decisions.
- Develop the teamMentor engineers, provide architecture guidance, and make shared standards useful in day-to-day work.
- Connect teams and systemsWork across service boundaries and vendor integrations so delivery holds together.
- Own the operational pictureBring capacity, failure scenarios, monitoring, and on-call practices into engineering decisions.
- Improve how work gets doneBuild reusable tools and guide practical adoption of AI-assisted engineering.

Walmart Global TechSenior Software Engineer / Technical LeadMay 2023 — May 2025
From event-driven systems to real-world fulfillment.
Led a 10-person team delivering autonomous robotics for Walmart’s first hybrid fulfillment center. The program supported 130K units shipped daily and 1.3-day delivery.
- Partnered with GreyOrange, CVP, and Dematic on Kafka-based services with Spring Boot and React.
- Developed a centralized inventory system to unify data across fulfillment centers.
- Established code-review guidelines, streamlined CI/CD, and improved on-call monitoring.
- The program projected $150M+ in savings; this was a projection, not a realized-savings claim.

What building AI agents taught me about the cost of complexity
About me
I like the point where a difficult technical problem becomes something a team can understand, own, and improve.
My work spans insurance, supply chains, communications, and financial systems. Across those domains, I’ve stayed hands-on while taking on architecture, mentoring, and engineering delivery.
Recently, that work has included MCP tools, AI agents, and conversational interfaces. I’m interested in what makes these systems useful and reliable beyond the demo.
What I bring to the table
- Systems
- Distributed systems, event-driven architecture, APIs, multi-tenancy
- Delivery
- Technical leadership, mentoring, CI/CD, observability
- Tools
- Java, Spring Boot, React, Kafka, AWS, Azure, GCP
- AI
- MCP servers, API tools, agents, AI-assisted engineering
